American Physical Therapy Association
(APTA)
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 72,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.
These goals are based upon the American Physical Therapy Association Vision Statement for Physical Therapy 2020 (Vision 2020) developed by the Association in 2000.
The mission of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the principal membership organization representing and promoting the profession of physical therapy, is to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of movement dysfunctions and the enhancement of the physical health and functional abilities of members of the public.
Physical therapists (PTs) who are members of APTA are bound by the Association's Code of Ethics and are especially committed to providing competent and compassionate care. PTs must be licensed by the state in which they practice.
Make sure that you receive physical therapy from a licensed physical therapist. Physical therapists are professional health care providers who are licensed by the state in which they practice. DG Therapy Group Physical Therapists (PTs) are members of APTA.
